SiriusXM Radio – 2014 Freightliner

Non-stop tunes for coast-to-coast cruising.

This customer was between hauls and stopped in at our shop in Garner, NC to change the factory stereo on his 2014 Freightliner. His main goal was to have the ability get the same radio stations anywhere across the US. We were able to meet his needs by providing him with a SiriusXM enabled radio.

He also decided that bluetooth capabilities were necessary so he could pair his phone for distraction-free driving to be able to talk to loved ones while on the road and call work to find out when and where to get his next pickup.

After a few days on the road, the customer called in with some questions about operating the SiriusXM radio. We were able to troubleshoot over the phone and even helped him set some additional SiriusXM presets that he enjoyed after having a chance to listen to the various stations.

This customer decided that the factory radio in their Ferrari F430 was simply not cutting it anymore. We reviewed some options and he decided to upgrade to a bluetooth CD receiver with smartphone compatibility and added a SiriusXM tuner as well. Despite very little technical information available for this particular car, we were able to source the appropriate connectors which made the installation very clean and neat.

While we were at it, we also hard-wired the customer’s radar detector and concealed some of its wiring.

After discussing the various car radio options and trade-offs, this customer decided to replace the ailing factory radio in their Volvo with a double-din radio. They chose a radio with Bluetooth connectivity so they could make hands-free phone calls, play music from their phone and much more.

They also decided to boost the sound quality of the vehicle by adding a size-appropriate subwoofer and amplifier combination to provide better bass response while not occupying too much space.

Note the concealed subwoofer/bass level knob in the OEM blank switch position. Sneaky, eh?
