Android Auto – 2008 Toyota Corolla

This customer hails from overseas where it is illegal to even touch your phone while driving, so their main goal was to ensure that level of driving safety in their new Corolla.

Their expectation was that this sort of level of integration with the vehicle would not be possible. Much to their surprise, we showed them an Android Auto receiver and they found it to be a winning combination. We even set them up with a nice HDMI / USB port so they had easy access to the device and a nice and clean installation.

We were pleasantly surprised to see yet another five star review from them the following day and an email letting us know that everything worked as advertised once they got home.

CarPlay + Android Auto – 2013 Ford F150

They said it couldn't be done (but Radio-Active did!)

This customer wanted to his truck to have the ability to use both CarPlay and Android Auto since he uses both Apple and Android platforms. He went to other car audio shops and they all told him it wasn’t possible.

Well, we were able to think creatively and made it happen! We were even able to retain the Microsoft Sync and the factory USB port in the center console for him and use the factory SiriusXM antenna. He left with everything working exactly as he had visioned.

This customer called us originally about installing a GM MyLink. We reviewed all the necessary components for it and then demonstrated some aftermarket solutions. He was impressed with the functions of newer receivers capable of Android Auto, a feature that would not be available with a MyLink retrofit.

Once he decided on the style of dash replacement (there are two) and opting for a more tactile dash / HVAC panel as opposed to the touchscreen, we were able to perform an integration for him that exceeded his expectations. Android devices can be a little finicky but we spent time with him after the installation to make sure that all the controls and options were working to his complete satisfaction.

This customer came to us with their Scion FR-S. His first issue was poor radio reception and we made some suggestions for him to solve that problem in a cost effective manner. As a result of our suggestion, we earned their business to integrate an Apple CarPlay / Android Auto receiver into his vehicle.

So now the customer has a smartphone connected car and a well integrated solution, including strategic placement of the Bluetooth microphone.
